Volunteer at the Plant Sale!

Preparations for our May 9th Plant Sale are in full swing here at Wasatch Community Gardens and we definitely could not have a successful fundraiser without the help of our fabulous Plant Sale Volunteers.

As usual we will feature an amazing selection of heirloom veggies, drought tolerant natives and herbs. By volunteering for our Plant Sale you will gain entrance to our pre-sale that takes place on Friday, May 8th from 8pm-9pm and ensure that you get first pick! Plant Sale shifts are as follows:

Thursday, April 30th*
7pm-8pm: Plant expert orientation (all plant expert volunteers must attend this meeting to receive the plant list and learn about our amazing selection of tomatoes, peppers, grasses etc.)

Friday, May 8th
4pm-6pm: Unload, place, label and price plants
Set up tents, chairs, tables and signs
Plant experts to direct the unloading of plants*

6pm-8pm: Inventory and price plants
Continue setting up tents, chairs, tables and signs

8pm-9pm: Pre-Sale. All volunteers welcome!

Saturday, May 9th
7:30-10:30: Parking attendants to direct car traffic
Greeters to direct foot traffic
Plant experts to work in the vegetable, annual and perennial sections*
Plant caretakers to water dried out seedlings
Pricers to total customer’s orders
Cashiers
Loaders to help customer’s take plants to cars
Extra volunteers to relieve other volunteers or fill in as needed
